Unappreciated and Disrespected

I was so going to post about this weekend in the Hill today but no, I am in NO kind of way to be posting a weekend wrap up. Instead I am ranting, why? Because this girl is pissed.

*Side note, if you are easily offended, save yourself the trouble and the disappointment in me and do not read the following post.

Today I felt unappreciated and disrespected, 2 of my most hated things in the whole ENTIRE effin' world.

I volunteer for several organizations, I enjoy it, I like to keep busy and if you get down to the damn skinny of it I like to feel important. I put a lot of my time into these organizations, time I could be spending at home or on other things that need to be done (not that I do not spend a lot of time at home with my family- Could see that shit backfiring from a mile away.)

I am chair for a certain organizations fund-raiser this year and I have been working my ass off on top of all the others stuff you guys know I have going on and the President called me today and basically made me feel like shit, like I had accomplished nothing. I AM SO EFFIN SORRY THAT THE MAN WHO RAN SAID EVENT LAST YEAR APPARENTLY WALKED ON WATER BUT THIS GIRL DOES NOT. I have put a lot of thought and time into this and for him to question my time and commitment really pissed me off. Why would anyone want to volunteer for something when they are made to feel incompetent. It is not fair. Maybe it is because I am the ONLY 20 year old that is volunteering on this board? I am not sure but I will NOT be volunteering to head ANY event again for this board for a long time. I will finish this one because I am committee to children said event will help out but NO, next time I am going to sit back and vote via email and twiddle my effin thumbs like the other board members.

No wonder people are selfish and do not volunteer for shit anymore.

In love

Today.

Today, I have been married to my best friend for 6 years.

It has been a constant roller coaster of ups and downs, or hard times and good time, or memories, but most importantly, it has been 6 years together.

Ya'll, I am still madly in love with this man.

I love that he is the only one that gets my jokes, I love that we can look at each other and know what the other is thinking.

I love him. Period.

I know this is a short post but I am packing for Coastal Town this weekend and making a cake.

The hubs is working anyway so I will post more about the anniversary soon!

Wordless Wednesday... Almost.

I can not be wordless when it comes to the picture.

He is getting so big. Everytime I hear this song, I cry.

Let them be Little by Billy Dean

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand
Felt so good in it, no bigger than a minute
How it amazes me, you're changing with every blink
Faster than a flower blooms they grow up all too soon

So let them be little
'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise,
give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle,
let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

I've never felt so much in one little tender touch
I live for those kisses, prayers and your wishes
Now that you're teaching me things only a child can see
Every night while we're on our knees all I ask is please

Let them be little
'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise,
give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle,
let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little

So innocent, a precious soul, you turn around
It's time to let them go
So let them be little
'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise,
give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle,
let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little
Let them be little
Hell, I just cried reading it.

I believe in a thing called love, bday fun and The Beibs!!

Ok... I totally slacked off on the anniversary blogs over the weekend. Sue me, my weekend was jam packed with Grit's birthday celebrations and Justin Beiber.

To start this post, I am going to tell you all about The Dad and My song, then finish with the Weekend wrap up.

I believe in a thing called love by The Darkness

Can't explain all the feelings that you're making me feel

My heart's in overdrive and you're behind the steering wheel

Touching you, touching me

touching you, god you're touching me

I believe in a thing called love

Just listen to the rhythm of my heart

There's a chance we could make it now

We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down

I believe in a thing called love

Ooh!

I wanna kiss you every minute, every hour, every day

You got me in a spin but everythin' is A.OK!

Touching you, touching me

touching you, god you're touching me

I believe in a thing called love

Just listen to the rhythm of my heart

There's a chance we could make it now

We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down

I believe in a thing called love

Ooh! Guitar!

Touching you, touching me

touching you, god you're touching me

I believe in a thing called love

Just listen to the rhythm of my heart

There's a chance we could make it now

We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down

I believe in a thing called love

Ooh!

No, it is definitely not your sappy love song but The Dad and I are definitely NOT your sappy love couple. This became our song when we first started dating. We were are The Dad's cousin's dorm room and they started playing this song and The Dad sang it to me, complete with the super high notes :) Since then , this has been our tune!

Ok on to the weekend.

This weekend was full of Grit's Birthday Festivities.

Friday night, Grits, her hubs, and kids, as well as, Southern Fried Mama and her loveys came over for pizza and wine. It was a blast. The kiddos had a blast playing the wii and ds, while the adults played some trivia!

Grits and the kiddos blowing out the candles on her cake... not sure what happened to the pic quality.

Dood and Grits' little boy dancing to the Wii. They were adorable!

Dood showing the boys how to play the DS. He would be the expert as much as he is on that stupid thing.

Saturday, I was pretty lazy during the day, just cleaning a little.

Saturday night we went out to dinner and went to the CC for Grit's birthday. I guess you would say this was her "Adult" birthday party. It was a hoot. Her family is frikin' hilarious. I do not think I have laughed so hard in a long time!

The Dad, Me, Grits, and Her Dream Husband at Dinner!

Grits and her Dream Man!

Grit's brother and his wife. Ya'll... She is like 6 months pregnant and other than the basketball in her tummy you would not even be able to tell. She is so cute. I was so gross looking when I was pregnant... ugh, I never want to be pregnant again!

After dinner, we went to CC and got our drink on.

Grits and Superman during shots of Patron... forget me doing it. Tequila has a direct effect on my gag reflex. Too many nights of Jose in college ending up at the porcelain god. Gross.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRITS!

I love that we have become such good friends. You make Augusta bareable and even enjoyable at times! Here's to another year or how 'bout 80?

On Sunday, I took the Boy to see Justin Beiber's: Never Say Never. He had a blast!

He loves Justin Beiber and told me recently that he wants to be the next Justin Beiber.

He asked for a drum set for his birthday so he will be getting that this year. I know I may be a bit partial but the Dood LOVES music. He loves to sing, play instruments, dance. All of it and he is good!

Getting ready to watch the Beibs. After about 10 minutes into the movie, he was up singing along and dancing, much to the delight of some teenage girls sitting beside us, who thought he was the cutest thing ever.

At the end of the movie he asked me, "Mom, when I get famous are girls going to shout my name?" I said, of course. He exited the movie theatre chanting his name accompanied with fist pumps! I love this kid!

Well thats it for the weekend round up. Only 2 more day until our anniversary!

Through the good times and the bad

Oh the ups and downs. The dad and I have definitely had our share.

We were married very young with a little one on the way. It was very very hard in the beginning.

We were still growing up and trying to be a family at the same time.

The Dad and I split up a lot at the beginning. We always thought that divorce was the quick answer and used it against each other many times. Although, we tried very hard, we couldn't stay away from each other. We worked things out and we were in a very good place for a long time. Then the bottom fell out.

In October of 2008, The Dad and I separated. We thought that there was more for us out there with someone else. We thought that we would be happier. We were... for a while. We dated other people, we hurt each other. We hurt each other very much. It was the worst time of my life. About 3 months into our separation, I knew. I knew that I wanted The Dad and no one else. It was so hard to think that he would not be a part of my life or that he was with someone else. We were separated during the holidays, which was horrible. To make it even worse, my grandmother passed away on Thanksgiving day that year. I felt so alone, so sad. I expressed this feelings to The Dad, but he was not ready to reconcile, and I didn't blame him. It would be a while before we were both over the hurt.

The day we were to sign our divorce papers, something clicked. The Dad handed me the papers and said he didn't want me to sign them. I didn't. We talked for a very very long time and decided that we wanted to be together. We wanted to be together forever.

Luckily, The Dad and I have been able to move forward with our life. We moved away from Coastal Town and all the horrible memories there. That was very hard, we missed our families and friends, but we made a life in Golf Town. For the first time we did not have anyone else to lean on but ourselves and it made us much stronger. We are very happy now. We still have our arguments, but that is just The Dad and I. We communicate with bickering and finish the conversation with a kiss. Blame it on the Irish and Italian in us. If one of us does bring up the D-word in an argument the other is very quick to make it known that we will NEVER threaten that again.
To any couple is that is going through a bad time in your marriage, divorce is not always the answer. I know that in some cases it is definitely the answer but not in all cases. I urge you to step back and really see the big picture before taking that plunge. The grass is NOT always greener on the other side. My grass is the greenest when I am with The Dad.
I know this post is a little all over the place but it was really hard to write.

I think your tractors sexy but Don't Touch Me

Well, The Dad and I will be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary in exactly 1 week.
I want to share how we met, how we feel in love, the struggles, the highlights and such leading up to our anniversary, so I have it on my blog to look back on (when I want to kill him) later in life.
This would be the how we met and started dating portion... it is a long one for hang on.
The Dad and I met in the summer of 2004. (Remember that summer ML??? Didn't think so) We were both working at The Bass Pro shop in Coastal Town. I was in college and working part time as a cashier, he worked in the marine department. The Dad was dating another girl that worked there, I used the term girl loosely, but I am sure she had a great personality :) She quit right before I was hired... Perfect timing, as devilish as it sounds. I was also dating someone who was actually a great guy but wrong wrong wrong for me (he also went to high school with The Dad... oops) but I digress.
We were both working at the Bass Pro Shop that summer. I first noticed The Dad when I was working at the cash register by the marine department. He was tan, had shaggy hair, incredibly cute dimples, liked to party and JUST MY TYPE. I did the whole batty eyes and smiles thing for a little bit, but didn't want to push it too far bc I was dating someone (which DID NOT last long). I started hanging out, and by hanging out I mean consuming MASSIVE amounts of alcohol and not sleeping) with several people at work. One day I walked by the marine department and looked at the Dad and said.... get ready for this shining moment, "I love your dimples" Yep.... weirdo girl in the cashier lane doesn't say hello, or hi my name is... nope just compliments your dimples and walks away! Lord. Apparently though for The Dad, that was all it took :)
That night a whole group from work decided to go to Ruby Tuesday, which happened to be the most happening spot and where we spent a nice chunk of the Summer of 2004. Knowing I had a boyfriend, but apparently not giving a damn, the much younger, much more attractive me asked The Dad to go with us. He said yes!!! I remember being so nervous that ML told me to shut it and stop talking about him... STAT. :) I didn't want him to see me in my work clothes bc that was all he ever saw me in so I went a bought a Guy Harvey shirt (yes, guy harvey.) to wear!
That night we all head down to Rubys and there is The Dad with his best friend, Mc (Also known as Uncle Mc, now that my son calls him Uncle). See like I said before The Dad had a "girl"friend and was trying his damndest to be a good boyfriend... again oops, so he brought Mc to hook me up with. He really liked me but figured if he hooked me up with his best friend it would be easier for him not to cheat on his girlfriend.... how did that work out for him you ask?? We ended up playing footsy under the table while Mc asked me getting to know you questions! After Ruby's we went back to The Dad's (mom's) house and hung out. I was completely plastered and apparently The Dad and Mc had a talk on the way home and it was made obvious that Mc would not be getting to know me any further bc when I got there The Dad held my hand... aww. (Not bc I was falling over from being a drunk college girl but bc he was being romantic... maybe... ok probably not). At some point in the night, ML left and Mc passed out and The Dad and I were left leaning against his tractor (err... riding lawn mower) and I say to him... I think your tractor's sexy... Yep, dump statement #2 and we hadn't even started dating yet. We kissed that night, and all I remember was for the first time EVER, a kiss took my breathe away. I remember only wanting to kiss him forever at the moment. PROBLEM=boyfriend... eff. I left his house as the sun was coming up to go home and get ready for work. I passed my then boyfriend (see I was staying with him. insert, bad name comment here) on the way in the house... where had I been all night, at ML's house of course. To say the least, that night was off the rictor scale.
Right, ML?
The next day I tell then boyfriend that my new friend, The Dad, will be giving me guitar lessons that day and he informs me that him and The Dad were friends in high school... crap. Oh well being young and stupid, I go over to The Dad's house for my "guitar lessons", well a little guitar music in the background as we made out of The Dad's bed :). Bad thing, We walk out of said guitar lesson, to then boyfriend sitting on The Dad's couch, talking to my future mother in law... Crap. He turns and ask me how the lesson was, where there had obviously been NO guitar lesson sounds coming out of that room. I say fine, he says we need to talk.... CRAP.
He asks me what is going on, I say guitar lessons, he says ok... I felt like crap and knew I had to end it but didn't want him to throw my shit in the yard... horrible horrible person.
That night, the whole gang goes to a local bar (keep in mind I am 19 years old). We are all laughing, drinking, having fun when I look up and in walks then boyfriend's best friends... my reaction to The Dad, I look at him as say, DON'T TOUCH ME! The guys look at me funny and him very angrily, thinking he was trying to hit on their best friends woman. Luckily at this very moment, right before bar brawl begins, the bartender comes over and ask for my ID... um what ID I am 19 and invincible, remember?? He tells The Dad to take me home. Off we go. It is blantantly obviously that we need to make a decision.... Do we? No. We sit in his truck for 3 hours and make out.
The next day I was set to go to Backwoods, GA with ML and our friend KT. We left for Backwoods that day and I was a little bummed. I knew The Dad had a date with the "girl"friend (ok chick was UUUUGGGGGLLLLLYYYYY, there I said it.) that night and although I had no right in the WORLD to be mad, I was. How did I resolve this situation? Drank massive amounts of Moonshine with ML and KT and get even more shitfire angry. At about 2 in the morning, I decide to call The Dad and let him have a piece of my mind... bc it was all his fault for having a girlfriend, and the fact that I still had a boyfriend was a mute point.
The Dad: Hello (In a sleepy voice bc he had to be at work at 6am that morning)
Me: WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? LEADING ME ON AND GOING ON A DATE...
The Dad: I broke up with her
Me: WITH THAT GIRL WHEN YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE FEELINGS FOR ME. YOU KISSED
The Dad: I broke up with her
Me: ME AND TOLD ME YOU LIKED ME. I TOLD YOUR TRACTOR IS SEXY FOR GOODNESS SAKE... Wait what?
The Dad: I broke up with "girl"friend.
Me: YOOOOOOUUUUU DDDDIIIIIDDD (cried in a drunken stuper)
The Dad: Yes, I did. I want to be with you but obviously can't because you are in the middle of God knows where with cows and chickens
Me: and Moonshine
The Dad: Really?
Me: Yeah.
The Dad: (laughs) I am going to have my hands full with you.
He had no idea.
I come home from the party in the backwoods and met up with Then Boyfriend. I tell him we have to break up. That he was a great guy (He was to put up with my shenanaghans), but I am moving into a different direction (WHAT??? I was... in sorts) He asked me if it was The Dad and I said... of course not. I was a big horrible liar person when I was 19 apparently.
I drove over to The Dad's house, walked into his room, told him I broke up with then boyfriend and he said... "Great! So we are going out now right?" ha ha ha, I said yes. We kissed and watched Family Guy DVD box set the rest of the evening.
Told you it was a long story, but this is the start of my love story with The Dad... it has been a wild ride... from the beginning.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Sorry no pictures today, I am pooped and my internet is running about as slow as molasses in the wintertime.

I am loving that I get to work with the crazy new bff Grits on a fundraiser for the Southeastern Firefighter's Burn Foundation. It is nice to be able to give back to the community, especially to a charity that is so dear to the my husband's career, and a definitely plus that I get to do it with the funniest person I know. I am also loving that I get to go out and spend some time with Southern Fried and Grits on Saturday for Grits' birthday!!

I am loving that the Dad got me the just dance game for the Wii! SO FUN!

I am loving that I found out today that doodle will be in his first school play in March. Tear.

I am loving that I served Pizza Rolls for dinner today, that's it, just Pizza Rolls and the boys LOVED it! I am not going to lie, I enjoyed it myself!

I am loving that because I was sick all week last week and because I have been having this weird nausea thing this week (and before you say it, NO I am not pregnant, bc I am current flowing like the effin' Nile river) that I have manage to loose almost 10 lbs.

I am loving that I found the soap I use for the Dood on clearance at Kroger today for $.50 cents. Bought 8 of them, used a $3.00 coupon and only ending paying $.82 for all 8!
I really really LOVE when I get amazing deals on things we use everyday!

I am loving that I can finally breath out of my nostrils.

Lastly, I am loving that in 7 short days the Dad and I will be celebrating 6 years of marriage!!!

What are you loving?

Champagne Taste- Lets go Krogering

I finally had a chance to coupon today. I didn't get to go last week and that sucks.

I have had several people ask to see what I have stock piled like the crazy ladies on the discovery channel, so I will show you that too!

I did some drug store shopping today. I will show the pictures but I am not going into drug store shopping much today.

CVS
Before Coupons- $28.00

Favorite Deal- FREE toothpaste

Rite AidBefore Coupons- $40.00

Things to remember about Kroger-
- Double coupons up to $.50

I usually do most of my krogering when they have their mega deals, like today. Usually you buy 10 items and get $5.00 off the order, but today they had a special mega deal. You bought 10 items and you receive $3.00 off the order and $3.00 off your next order.

Freezer

Pantry
Didn't pay over a dollar for any of that cereal, and us here in the busy household go through some cereal.

Laundry Cabinet 1
I get most of my cleaning products at drug stores... best deals hands down.

Laundry Pantry 2
Yes, we love pasta. I did not pay more than $.50 for any of that.

Hope you liked your little looksy into my crazy coupon life. I would be crazy not to coupon and save ungodly amounts of green... just sayin'

Fresh Air and Valentines

Last week we were SICK SICK SICK

Monday- Doodle came home early with a fever from School.
Tuesday- Dood started coughing and I started running a fever.
Wednesday- He was miserable, went to the Dr and I started coughing. Dr said it was just a cold and basically we have to suffer through it. Thanks Doc.
Thursday- We were both absolutely miserable.
Friday- Doodle FINALLY broke his fever and started to feel a little better but still coughing while I was suffocating bc I can NOT breath out of my mouth.
Saturday- I FINALLY break my fever, Doodle is still coughing a little but definitely feeling better AKA building mountains on my furniture.

Sunday- I am back from the dead but still coughing and still can not breath out of my nose, Dood is back to being 100% boy.
Today- Dood is great, I am still a little under the weather but getting there.

Whew... Being sick SUCKS and being sick while your child is sick DOUBLE SUCKS.

On Sunday, we were feeling much better and the weather here in Golf Town was BEAUTIFUL. It was sunny, warm and bright so we headed outside. I sat on the patio and took in some rays while Dood and The Dad practiced a little t-ball.

Look at the Arm :)

Get em out!

The Dad playing some ball

Hey batter batter! SWING!

Today was obviously Valentine's day. So Happy Valentine's to everyone that actually celebrates it. Here is the Busy household, not so much. The Dad and I do not celebrate V day or VD as we so lovingly call it :). Our anniversary is 10 days after V day so we just save our time, energy, and money on our real day o' love!

I did, however, choose a sweet little boy to be my valentine today. I went to his V day party at school! Sidenote: Seriously, must the pump them full of THAT much sugar?? Next time I am sending in Apples.

My Valentine. Please disregard my obviously Mom Fail. I sent my son to school in green on V day. I totally blanked on the red shirt, sue me I have been sick.

Dood and his friend at the Party err Celebration. Apparently, you can not call it a party anymore... lame.

Lastly, Dood wanted to get his "girlfriend" something for V day. His girlfriend happens to live 3 houses down from us and is in his class. He picked her little stuffed dog out all by himself.
So sweet.

Dood and his "girlfriend". Isn't it funny how much bigger the girls are at this age?? Your time is coming buddy!

This is about it for the day.

Happy VD Everyone :)

Dress for Success...

I am not sure if the above statement is that powerful or if I am just playing mind games with myself, but I have been dressing to the 9's for work the past two weeks and I have been ROCKING IT!!

Like go me, go me, it's your birthday rocking it.

Problem 1, I want to buy more clothes.

Problem 2, I really shouldn't because I am starting P90x and Operations Tank Ass today and have thousands of dollars worth of clothes in my closet that do not fit my fat ass.

Problem3, The Dad would probably divorce me if I spent money on clothes right now.

Grrr.... BUT I have picked out some loveys that I am going to keep in mind when I am working my arse off tonight to P90x.

Ralph Lauren Women's Black Crest Logo Dress... Swoon.

Tian-Mu Satin Dazzle Flower Vintage Sexy Deep V Dress

Forever 21 Fab Ethnic Print Skirt

Lilly Pulitzer 'Finn' Shift Ponte Dress in Navy

And Lastly,

BAHAHAHAHA... Ya'll, I am sooooo just kidding.
Mel, Hope that made you laugh today!
Anyway, hopefully these pretties will inspire this girl to work it tonight!

February Goals

Ok so here are my goals for February.

Work on my fitness
1. Start P90x on Monday with the hubs. Even if I can only do 3 push ups.
2. Drink 64 oz of water a day and NO SODAS!
3. Do not skip meals but eat several small meals a day and keep them in a food diary. Hubs swears up and down that this will make you lose weight faster than the no eating thing.

Style
1. Get a haircut with layers
2. Wash face every morning and night. I know I should do this but I am always super tired at night.
3. Keep my nails manicured
4. Jeans only Friday-Sunday

Organization
1. Make a weekly schedule. I have seen people do this and it helps them get more accomplished.
2. Organize my filing cabinet
3. Finish my coupon database

Work
1. No facebook at work. THIS IS GOING TO BE SUPER DUPER HARD but I need to get more stuff done.
2. Make at least 5 sales calls a week
3. Purge old files and make 2011 files

Financial
1. Keep a bank transaction list
2. Do not eat out while at work during the week. Take lunch
3. Get taxes done son!

Personal
1. Make more time to call friends and keep up with what is going on with them. (February's main focus is Nancer)
2. Wake up at 6 am... no snooze, no turning off the alarm, no excuses.
3. Go to bed earlier, no later than 11. I know that does not sound early but for me it is!

I know this is a lot but I think I can do it!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

First and foremost, I am loving that the Dads cousin and his wife delivered their twin boys last night and they are healthy. Poor thing has been on bedrest since she found out she was pregnant and has had, I think, every complication you can have! She delivered last night at 31 weeks. The boys are small, weighing in at 3lb and 3.4lbs, but they are doing well! Please keep them in your thoughts!

I am loving bathtime with doodle. I know that is he is 5 1/2 years old and should probably be giving himself a bath already BUT this is our special time. I have always been a working mom so at the end of the night, bathtime was our time to spend together and talk about the day. I know this time is quickly coming to an end but I am going to hold onto it until he is ready to let it go. Here are a couple fun pictures from last night!
This is his bubble beard! Goober.
I love this laugh so much!
His cool dude hair style. We do this nightly... no lie.
I am loving that Sti will be coming to see my next weekend and that I am super persuasive...
6 month rule my arse.

I am loving my new boots that were on my blog last night. I wore the black ones for the first time today and I have gotten so many compliments.

Lastly, I am loving that it is 61 degrees and beautiful outside today in Golftown, GA. I have my office front door open and I have a feeling me and the doods will be going the park this afternoon!

That is about all today. What are you loving?

Ok, here is the deal ya'll, I dug for hours in endless clearance racks to find these. I have been known to be a marathon shopper. Like, seriously, my mother in law has complained of "shoppers" elbow after going with my for one day. I LOVE shopping, just as much as I love a good deal. Some women would rather pay full price than dig through a clearance rack...
UMMM NOT THIS GIRL!

I leave you with these little slices of heaven. See, I have gymnast calves, meaning I have HUGE calf muscles. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get these babies into a pair of boots, that is, until this weekend. I found boots that fit... and were on sale!!
Obviously, I bought them in Black and Brown... duh.

Be still my heart!
