30 Day Challenge- Day 6

Day 6- Favorite Movie

My all time favorite movie is Walk the Line.

I am in love with the story of Johnny Cash and June Carter. I love how she took an unattainable man and tamed him. It just shows that LOVE conquers all!

I also LOVE this song by Heidi Newfield!

Oh there's somethin' 'bout a man in black
Makes me wanna buy a cadillac
Throw the top back
And roll down to Jackson Town

I wanna be there on the stage with you
You and I could be the next rage to
Hear the crowd roar make 'em want more
And the kick the footlights out

I wanna love like Johnny and June
Rings of fire burnin' with you
I wanna walk the line walk the line
Till the end of time

I wanna love love ya that much
Cash it all in give it all up
And when you're gone i wanna go too
Like Johnny and June

I wanna hold you baby right or wrong
Build a world around a country song
Pray a sweet prayer follow you there
Down in history

I wanna love like Johnny and June
Rings of fire burnin' with you
I wanna walk the line walk the line
Till the end of time

I wanna love love ya that much
Cash it all in give it all up
When you're gone i wanna go too
Like johnny and june like Johnny and June

More than life itself no one else
This endless promise
They don't make love like that anymore
Is that too much to be askin' for?

I wanna love like Johnny and June
Rings of fire burnin' with you
I wanna walk the line walk the line
Till the end of time

I wanna love love ya that much
Cash it all in give it all up
When you're gone i wanna go too
Like johnny and june like Johnny and June

And when we're gone there'll be no tears to cry
Only memories of our lives
They'll remember remember
A love like that

LOVE IT!

Time to breath!?!?!?!?!?

Oh how I hate the end of t-ball season because I really enjoy going to watch doodle and chat with the other t-ball moms BUT this year I am not going to lie... I am a little relieved. We went straight from soccer to t-ball this fall without a break so this little moma is pooped!

Thursday (Don't judge), We had doodle's end of season party for t-ball! We had it at a local pizzeria and the team had a BLAST! They were able to make their own pizzas and got trophies, which are always a hit!

Doodle making his pizza!

So Cute!

Silly Silly Boys!

Dood with his completed pizza! I am not sure what he is doing but he had been posing like this for pictures a lot! I try to tell him to put his chin down but this is what I get :)

The YUMMY cake! GO ASTROS!

Doodle with Coach! He really loves his coach. Hands down best in the league!

We can not wait for Spring ball! We will be doing t-ball again next year! I really love our team and I am dreading the day they will have to be broken up but until then we will enjoy the great American past time with some great American families. As for right now... I sit down a take a breather before basketball starts in January!

30 Day Challenge- Day 5

Your Siblings-

I hope you have a while!

First off I would like to say that although some of my sister are step-sisters or half-sisters they are still my sisters. period. I love these girls with all of my heart.

Their mom was married to my dad for 17 years and in that 17 years these girls and I were sisters and though our parents are no longer together we are still and will ALWAYS be sisters.

These girls are my best friends!

The Oldest- Weezy
My big sister... the one who I always wanted to be like. She taught me cheerleading, she taught me about boys and she taught me to get in trouble :)

The Twins- Booty and KimboThese girls crack me up! They are crazy!

The Baby- Steps
Oh Gracious this girl drove me crazy when she was younger but I love my sissy!!

There are also 3 other siblings I have yet to meet. See, my dad decided to start having kids again later in life and unfortunately I have not had the opportunity meet my littlest siblings.

30 Day Challenge- Day 4 (A day late!)

Day 4 (A day late!)- Your Parents

My Dad.... Well, I am a little emotional about my father right now. I will not go in detail but I will just say that we are not as close as we once were. I was always a Daddy's girl and still am but there is a lot of raw emotions here so that is all I will say.

This a picture from the last time I saw my dad. As you see, it has been a while (yes, that is doodle in the picture)

My Mom... I would say my mom was more of a best friend than a mom. She was always there is pick me up when I was down and I could always talk to her about ANYTHING. My mom has had her issues as well, but she is getting herself together and I am sooooooo proud of her!

My beautiful Mom!

I love my parents very much. They have both had their issues, but who doesn't? I have realized as I have gotten older that I will always love and respect them as my parents, but I do not have to make the same mistakes and I haven't!

30 Day Challenge- Day 3

Day 3- Your first love

Of course, The Dad is the love of my life, but there were others before him... well not loves of my life but loves.

My first love....

We will just call him Juggalo for all intensive purposes :)

I still smile when I think of him because not only was he my first love but he was my first true best friend. He knew everything about me and helped me through some of my worst times!

We dated for almost 3 years throughout high school. We worked together at a grocery store and I still remember passing little notes on register paper and such... too cute! We share memories of proms and homecomings and going off to college.

Even though we did not work out, he is still a very close friend of mine to this day. I know that there is nothing I can not talk to him about and in a lot of ways he knows me better than most because he knew the young me, the carefree me, the crazy me :)

Thank you fatty fatty 2 by 4, you will always mean a lot to me! Thank you for the memories and even though we found the loves of our lives with other people, we will always have beef jerky!

Thankful Thursday- Veteran's Day Edition.

It is no secret that I have been in a crap mood lately!

If you take a looksy at my facebook page, it is littered with negative status post about how I have been feeling lately about this and that.

If you look at my twitter, there are little tweets like, "is this day over yet?" and "what a horrible day!"
Well this morning I recieved a message from an old friend (like HIGH SCHOOL old) telling me that she enjoyed my blog! It made me smile because I often wonder if anyone even reads my blog :) and then I realized, "Geez!" you should be glad to be able to even write a blog.
To have the freedom to do such frivilous things.

Today is Veteran's Day!

Today I am thankful for all the veterans that have served or are still serving for our country.

This holiday has new meaning to me this year. A couple of weeks ago I blogged about a friend who was injured in the line of duty in Afghanastan. I see what his family it going through and it put this day and this war into a whole new persceptive for me.

Thank you so much to ALL of you that have fought or are fighting for my Freedom!

Here are just a few of my favorites!!

My Dad- Army

My Papa- Army

My Grandfather in law- Navy

My father in law- Air Force

Italian Stallion and Little V- USMC- Italian Stallion has been a friend of The Dad's since they were little and his wife is one of my best friends! This is Italian Stallion and his little brother Little V at Little V's swearing in ceremony. I absolutely love this piture!
Raise Chicken- USMC- Raise Chicken has also been a friend of my husband since high school (maybe earlier). Both Raise Chicken and Italian Stallion have baby girls under 6 months and are both deployed, so today I think of their wives (and my friends) too! Stay strong ladies! The Gator Twins- Army- These guys and I have a love/hate relationship! I love them any time other than college football season! :) They are Florida Gator Fans and I am a Georgia Bulldogs fan so we go head to head alot but I appreciate them!
Mr West Palm Beach- ARMY- Mr West Palm Beach was injured earlier this year in the line of duty. He lost both of him legs below the knee, yet he still is positive and passionate about the fight he was fighting! He and his family are truly inspirational!
Lastly, this is a brother of a friend of mine. He made the ultimately sacrifice for our freedom.-NAVY

You will always be remembered as our hero!
Please thank your veterans today! If it were not for them you would not even have the freedom to read this blog!

THANK YOU SO MUCH VETERANS!

30 Day Challenge- Day 2

Day 2- Meaning of your blog name

My blog name is If I'm Dreamin', please don't try to wake me.

It is a line from the Janis Joplin song, Try.

I always loved this lyric because that is how I wanted my life to be, like a dream!

Recently my life has been just that a dream!

30 Day Challenge- Day 1

I have been following a new blog and saw this challenge. I am going to do it to whip my slack blogging tale back into shape and hopefully let some of my new followers know a little more about me!

Day 1- Introduction, Recent Picture, and 15 interesting facts.

I am The Mom :)

I live in Golf Town, GA. I have a very handsome husband, The Dad, and a very very sweet little boy, Doodle. We keep extremely busy but I wouldn't trade it for the world! We just recently moved back to my hometown, bought our first home, bought a car, and are settling into the good life :)

This picture is of us in early October at a Sevendust/10 years concert.

15 Interesting facts:

1. I have always wanted to work with dead people (Hello!!! You probably shouldn't start with this one crazy girl :)) I am hoping to go through EMT school next year to become an assistant coroner for the local medical college.

2. I load my plate full of way too many activities for one family to get accomplished because if I am not extremely busy, I will be EXTREMELY lazy!

3. I use ... too much...

4. I am one of 5 girls, who grew up with 1 bathroom.

5. I am obsessed with all things Ralph Lauren polo for my little man... and me.

6. I could watch Gilmore Girls or Harry Potter all day everyday and be completely content with that!

7. I am a die hard Georgia Bulldogs fan who married a tried and true Florida Gators fan. Football season is very interesting around our house and we live for SEC football!

8. I have recently started couponing and I LOVE IT! I save a ton of money!

9. I am a quarter Japanese but you would never know it looking at me, other than the fact that I am 4' 11" and LOVE rice!

10. My Nanny is my grandmother but more importantly my best friend, my rock, my shield, and my 2nd favorite person in the entire world. (Only second to my child and my husband is completely ok with this fact.)

11. My favorite singer is Janis Joplin, which is way before my time but she soothes my soul! If I ever have a daughter I want to name her Harmonie Joplin.

12. I am an artist at heart. I love to paint.

13. I love the food network and often like to play Iron Chef in my own kitchen :)

14. My Mom lives in TX and my Dad lives in NY and I miss both of them terribly.

15. My biggest fear is having to live a day without my Nanny in it.

Well I hope these are interesting enough :) I am really looking forward to this challenge! Feel free to start the challenge with me!

Weekend Wrap Up.

This weekend was fun, fast and BUSY... just like everything else in this household :)

The mom-in-law, Uncle Video Game and The Dad's grandmother came into town this weekend. Of course, we always look forward to the mom-in-law coming but this weekend was extra special because G.T. was coming too! I will not even try to lie and say I was not running around like a mad woman before she arrived. G.T. is the dad's grandmother, she is 100% lady, 100% Italian, 100% Northern and makes me 100% nervous. I hate to admit that because she is a really sweet lady but me being born and raise in Georgia, I am always trying to figure out what I need to do to stand out and make her like me even more and guess what... after almost 6 years of marriage.... I HAVE SUCCEEDED!!!!!! She LOVED the new house, said my decorating skills were amazing, I had all her favorite foods and she really enjoyed her visit.... SCORE!!!!!!

They came into town on Friday night (FriDAY consisted of grocery shopping, cleaning, cleaning and MORE cleaning) and we decided to go get Mexican for dinner. It was super duper yummy!
After dinner we came home, had a glass of wine and talked and laughed until well past midnight.

Saturday morning, we got up around 9 and had some coffee and Eatenmens (G.T.'s favorite) coffee crumb cake. It was very good and very bad for my widening hips :) After breakfast we took our time getting ready and then headed to downtown Golf Town. The Mom-in-law has been here a million times and I had yet to take her downtown so I took this opportunity to do so. We went to eat lunch at one of my favorite Golf Town original restaurants. They have a seafood bisque that is delicious and a sandwich that is one of my all time favorites! They call it the Curious George and it has turkey, provolone, and spinach dip on a cabata bread bun. SO GOOD! After lunch I took them down to the river. These are the only pictures I got from the whole weekend because I am in desperate need of a new camera and have only my phone to take photos!

The Mom-in-law and G.T.

Uncle Video Game and Doodle

After the river we went to an arts and crafts fair at a local catholic church downtown. It was fun but we really did not find anything. After that we headed to Kirklands. G.T. just purchased a new home as well and she wanted me to help her find some things to decorate (a BIG compliment!!!) After Kirklands, we came home to make Stromboli and watch Toy Story 3! Well before that we had a couple glasses of wine and the Mom-in-law, G.T., and I ended up singing some David Allen Coe! There should have been a video camera on that one!

Sunday, I woke up in a mood. See, I am not a morning person and by that I mean I am a total bear until I have had about an hour to wake up AND at least 2 cups of coffee. So Sunday morning was a little trying for me. We all got up and we were kind of lazy, we drank coffee and watched the next karate kid (Cute!) after that I made omelets with ham, cheese, tomatoes and sauteed onions and peppers. Then the Mom-in-law and G.T. had to get on the road. It was a very nice weekend BUT I was EXHAUSTED by Sunday night!!!

I really enjoy when family comes to visit! This weekend was especially great because I feel like G.T. really accepts me into the family now. I know that sounds silly but I am the little southern belle that married into an Northern Irish/Italian family. Score one for this Southern Belle!!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend as well!!

It's been a long time....

I'm baaaaack! Wow the last 3 weeks have been an inch short of chaos...pure chaos.

For starters, I had a headache for a week and a half. Like lay me up in the bed not able to function headache. They sent me for a CAT Scan, they checked my eyes, they put me on TONS of pain medicine (I HATE taking medicine) all to find out after a week and a half that it was a side effect of a new medicine my Dr. had put me on.... awesome.

Regardless, I did not do anything for that week and a half. This past week we have A LOT going on. Last Friday, Doodle had his Halloween party at school and a character book parade. He was Diego and soooooo CUTE!

Doodle AKA Diego :)

Doodle and all his friends at their Halloween Party!

Doodle's first book report!

Dood in the book character parade!

Saturday we had a little get together at our house for the Georgia vs. Florida football game. The dad is a huge Florida fan (god knows why) and I am a HUGE Georgia fan so it was a lot of fun. A bunch of the guys from the FD came by, as well as, some new neighbors that we just LOVE! (Well they are not "new" neighbors, it is just that we are just getting to know them). Unfortunately, the dawgs lost....I cried...end of story.

Highlight of my day, however, was that I asked Dood if he would like to wear his red polo shirt with the black horse or the blue polo horse with the orange horse and he picked.... THE RED AND BLACK ONE!!!!! I was so excited! THEN, the dad accused me of coaching my sweet son's choice and Dood replied, "Coaching? What Coaching? I am cheering for the GO DAWGS...DAD!!" I was estatic!!!! I know I have raised my boy right!

Unfortunately, this is the ONLY picture I have from Saturday. I planned to get pictures after the game but I was too distraught and had too many vodka/cranberries :)

Sunday we rested and went Trick or Treating. This is our first Halloween in our new neighborhood and I was super excited bc our new neighborhood is very family oriented. I was not disappointed! My sister Weezy and her husband brought all the kiddos over and our new neighbors brought their two sweet girls and we had a ball!

Doodle was Mario this year and he was adorable!

It's me... Maaaarrriiiooo!

Dood's last t-ball game of the fall was last night. I will post on that tomorrow and will be back up with all the champagne budget, what I'm loving, and thankful Thursday next week. Thanks for your patience... except you Sti. :)
