I have decided to switch back and forth between "What I'm Loving" and "Wordless" Wednesday.

Two of my favorite people!

Tank Ass Tuesday... So it begins

And I suck. (Which seems to be a running theme now-a-days)
I was all gung ho on starting my diet and then my kidneys decided to act a fool and ruin my plans.
I am FINALLY starting not to feel like my lower back is going to break in two so I guess it is that time to start working my fat butt out.
I am starting the special K cereal diet. I LOVE me to some cereal so this should be easy.
Goal Weight loss for this week: 3 lbs.
Let you know how it goes...
On another note,
Giving a little weekend round up (Sorry I am completely slack on the pictures)
Mom-in-law and her boyfriend came in town for the weekend. I would love to say we had tons o time to spend together but the truth is, not so much.
Friday we had Chineses and after we got home I took a pain pill for my kidney and passed out.
Saturday, I had registration for tball and they went to look at land. We finally made it home to grill steaks and they went to bed early and we went over to Grits house (and had a frikin blast).
Sunday, we were lazy (err hungover) and just couch potatoed it.
That was about it... all in all a good weekend!
Now going to think about not being hungry :)

Apparently NOT Supermom

So as I have said before, I am the laziest person I know, therefore I often overbook myself because if I am not extremely busy then I will be extremely lazy, BUT today that plan backfired on me.

BIG TIME!

A friend had been trying to get in touch with me for about a month but something would happen and I would have to call her back (btw I am sooooo extremely sucky at returning phone calls) or I would be in a meeting and miss her call... either way I was too busy and she couldn't reach me.

She was calling to ask me to be in her wedding, yesterday was the last day to order dresses, and I missed out. She chose someone else...damn it I am mad at myself.

I know that the things I keep myself busy doing are important, but not as important as hanging out with one of my good friends. She was one of the first real friends I made after The Dad and I moved back to golf town. I suck. I feel horrible. Of course, as always, she was kind and sweet and forgave me immediately. We made plans for Saturday so I feel a little, by that I mean VERY little bit, better. The only comment she said was, "At least now I know you are human."

Often times my friends call me Supermom and to be honest I love it. I enjoy doing all the things I do for my family, community, and friends BUT being supermom does come with some down falls. I schedule phone calls with my friends bc I am super busy and often times Doodle is in bed before I get home from board meetings.

Am I too busy?

Grrr.... I hate being human.

Scared to death

Today, I talked to a friend whose grandmother is sick and is not expected to live much longer. As I talked to her and felt her sadness, I became more and more upset. I could not even imagine what she is going through. I just wanted to hug her and hug her.
After I hung up, I cried... and cried...and then called Nanny.
See I know it sounds crazy, but my greatest fear in life is having to live one day without my Nanny in it. As I have said on here before, she is not just my grandmother, she is literally my best friend. I talked to her EVERYDAY, sometimes more than once. When something happens in my life, she is the first person I call. I can never think of a time, she was not there for me.
With all that being said, Ya'll, I am scared to death.
I am having major issues with my Nanny getting older and the thought that someday I will not be able to pick up the phone everyday and call her. I can't even phathom not being able to hug her, kiss her, smell her, or sit on her lap (yes, I know I am on the downward slope to 30...don't judge). I am literally, sitting here crying my eyes out at the very thought of it.
She is a happy, healthy, still working 74 year old. Her words are so encouraging and I feel so selfish when I worry about how I will be if something happens to her but I guess all I can do is cherish every second.I know that eventually it will be her time to go and I have asked her on numerous occasions for it to come after my time to go :) but I do not know what I will do at that time. I have often said I would lock myself in a room for a week and just grieve. I don't want to talk or eat or anything...just grieve.
Grits, I am thinking about you and your family with every moment today. I am here for you with a glass of wine and a shoulder.
I am going to call Nanny... for the 4th time today :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday...

First, I will tell you what I am not loving and that is my dang gum kidney. It sucks and I hate it. I mean you can live on one and right about now, I am ready to tell the doctor to get that sucker out! Needless to say, I hurt therefore I will tell you what I am loving but no cutesy pictures today... Compromise people.

I am loving Whole Fruit Sorbet in Mango... holy yumminess and it is fat free and it is organic AND it will make you want to slap your mama!

I am loving they The Dad painted my laundry room the most beautiful shade of blue today... Pictures to come of the finished product!

I am loving that I get to design our neighborhood newsletter and write in it!!! Yay!

I am loving that Publix will have pop-tarts on sale Saturday and I will get ridiculous amount of toaster pastries for Doodle for minimal amounts of green.

I am loving that I have made two new great friends that are hilarious, slightly inappropriate, loud, opinionated and basically great! I am looking forward to some southern fried pearls and grits soon!!

Finally, I am loving that my son saw another little boy in the grocery store with a GA Bulldogs jersey on and told him he loved his Go Dawgs shirt and I LOVE the conversation that proceeded:

Little Boy in Jersey: I love the Bullbogs
Doodle: Me too
Little Boy in Jersey: Go Dawgs
Doodle: Sic Em'
They both bark as they walk away

Guess what I love the most about this story... The Dad, who is a stinky Florida fan, was there to witness his son's blatant love for Georgia football.

What are you loving today?

Everyday this year...

Guess whose baaaaaack!!!
Ok so it is the 4th and I have not blogged everyday this year (little inside joke), nor do I plan too but what I do plan on doing are the following items...
1. WAKE UP ON TIME- Ya'll! I can not drag my butt out of bed to save my life. One, I have been having a horrible time sleeping while the dad is at the FD but that is besides that point. I am NOT a morning person. I actually yelled at the dad this morning because he said I looked tired... yeah DUH! But still I degress, I am going to work hard to get my booty up and at 'em in the AM.
2. WORRY LESS- Ok... I will be the first to admit that I am the nosiest person in the world... bar none. I like to be in the know, I like to know everything first, and this makes for a stressful me. I worry about everything and everyone. I am busy! I have a 5 year old, I have a firefighter husband, I am team mom for t-ball and soccer, I am room mom at school, I am on the neighborhood communications committee, I am on the board of directors for the local little league, AND I work full time, I DO NOT have time to worry about others all the time (but obviously do have time to toot my own horn a little, It's my blog I will do as I please :))
3. COOK MORE- I want to cook more, not the stuff I ALWAYS cook but new stuff, new recipes, new foods... and the Dad will like it regardless :)
4. GET MY FAT BUTT IN SHAPE- 'nough said.
5. START A SECOND BLOG- This blog here is more for other people to keep up with us, I need a blog that is all me, a sounding board for myself. It will be coming soon but a fair warning, I have a feeling the new blog will not be for the faint of heart... just sayin'. I know the thoughts in my head and they are not always nice!
6. CALL MY GRANDMOTHER EVERYDAY- Nanny is my best friend. I love her more that anyone in the entire world with the exception of my son. I do not think I can truly express just how much but I want to try this year. She is getting older and it is haunting me.
So that is it... New Start.
I am contemplating a Christmas blog... probably tomorrow.
